WHAT PROBLEMS DID YOU ENCOUNTER WHILE MAKING THIS FILM?
The most challenging issue we had to deal with was the strict regulations around working with children. By California law, the children actors were only allowed to be working on the set for 7 hours and we were required to have a studio teacher on the set at all times to monitor this. Often, by the end of the day we would be behind on our shots and need to keep working. However at 7 hours on the dot all of our actors would disappear. There were times were I was begging our studio teacher to just allow us to take one more shot. I fully understand the need for child labor laws- it was just a new challenge that I was not properly prepared for. |
